Update on blog

As of now, I am going to try to go through the whole bible (all of the "BIG" bible stories). I hope you enjoy them all :) Thank you for reading my blog! Jesus Loves You!! You are perfectly and wonderfully made! -Alyssa

Creation

There is nothing that God made that is a mistake. That counts as you, me, plants, water, animals...we are NOT a mistake. After every day of the 6 days of creation God saw that it was good. That means humans (you and me), animals (yes, even that annoying or disgusting animal), and plants (yes, even those plants that you have been waiting FOREVER to grow). NONE OF IT IS A MISTAKE! I am going to take you on a little journey through the creation in Genesis, starting at day one:




DAY 1


 God created the heavens and the earth-God created light, which he called day, and darkness, which he called night. Then there was evening and morning. This is cool to think about to, the bible says that God said "Let there be light" and then there was light...I can't imagine how fast light came...can you?

Day 2

God divided waters from the waters- He divided heaven from the waters.- This makes me realize this...if God can divide the heavens and the waters...then can't he divide your problems from you?? He created dry land-which he called land, and water-which he called Seas.

Day 3

God created plants, trees, grass...

Day 4

God created the stars and signs for the seasons and days and years to begin. He also created two great lights: one greater light to rule the day, and one lesser light to rule the night.

Day 5

God created the waters to abound with an abundance of living creatures. He created every sea creature and every bird.

Day 6

God created every animal and he made man, Adam. God created Adam in his image-I am still not sure if that means that God looks like us or not-I LOVE the 6th day because I LOVE people and animals :)

Day 7

God rested. I can't blame him either...He did an AWESOME job with what he created. So when we cut ourselves down (like I tend to do) by saying "I'm ugly" or "I'm not talented", then we are cutting down what God made. Or even if we say that our dog or cat is annoying or if we say to an enemy "I hate you"...we are saying that we HATE what God made.

My mom reminds me of that- when I am telling myself "I am ugly" or "I hate my hair"...she tells me that God created me and that by saying those things...I am cutting down what God made. We shouldn't do that because everything God made is AWESOME!

He is Risen- Happy Easter!

HE IS RISEN! HALLELUJAH!

Jesus Christ rose from the dead...do you know what this means? It means that HE CONQUERED death!

This is such GREAT news. For He was dead but now is ALIVE!!

Imagine how Mary Magdalene felt when she was the FIRST to see Jesus! If I were her, I have NO CLUE what I would do! I would be HAPPY, CONFUSED, SCARED, AMAZED all at the same time!

HOW ABOUT YOU?

Jesus loves us SO much. That is why He DIED for us...and that is why He rose again, to show us that He conquered death and is with us and will ALWAYS be with us: Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20

Try reading the WHOLE resurrection story...It is a GREAT story...the thing that makes it better is that its not a STORY...Its TRUE!

Jesus ISN'T. We ARE.

Have you ever had a thought that sounded like this: God doesn't care about me, He only cares about Himself? I am sure you have. I have too :/


   BUT let me remind you: GOD IS NOT SELFISH. Jesus DOES care about you! Just because He doesn't give you what you WANT doesn't mean that He doesn't care about you or that He is selfish.


    Remember...Even though Jesus doesn't give us ALL of OUR WANTS...He DOES give us ALL of OUR NEEDS. You may say "But what about HOMELESS people?" Yes. Having shelter is a need. BUT we also should put our TRUST in GOD and have FAITH rather than just sit back and say "God is selfish".


    Also God sent HIS ONLY SON to DIE on the cross for US. That is NOT selfish in any way!


Jesus went through this:

While WE were the people who were doing this:

WE MOCKED HIM AND SPIT ON HIM. BUT He loves us NO MATTER what...that's not selfishness...that's TRUE LOVE!

BE Yourself

 Be who God made YOU to be! The world and the people in it may tell you "Your weird" or "Your not pretty", BUT don't let that getting in your way of being who God made you to be! Here are some tips on how to not let mean people get in your way:

• PRAY. not just for YOURSELF, but pray for the person that is "holding you back" from being YOURSELF.

• If it is more of a "embarrassing" thing to be yourself or if you are shy, then what you should do is slowly start doing things how YOU would want to (obviously when I say "do things the way you want to, I mean do the RIGHT thing while being YOURSELF) and as you keep on doing things "how you want to", pretty soon you will be ALL YOU :)

• Talk to your parents, teacher, or any adult you trust would give good advice. I think you should go to a parent (girl to mom, boy to dad)  because who doesn't know you better than the person with you everyday? :) Even if you are thinking "Why would I go to my parents?", TRUST ME. They are smarter than you think and can REALLY help.

REMEMBER BE YOURSELF. and at the same time...
LOVE WHO YOU TRULY ARE...
who God made you to be.
