Who Knew Preschoolers Would Teach Me Something?

have been school For almost a month now and today my class went to go see the preschoolers. When we got to their room, laughter and noise filled the room. Kids were playing with castles to farm animals. Dress up to building things. We went to go play with them. I love playing with little kids! I decided to go play with the kids that were playing with farm animals. There were 2 girls and 1 boy. As I was playing with them, I noticed that they were smiling and laughing and having fun like any preschooler would. I MEAN WHO WOULDN'T WANT TO PLAY WITH FARM ANIMALS..RIGHT? More laughter filled the room. Now there were these boys in my class that decided to play "dress up" with each other. As  I was watching them I couldn't help but laugh. Now that I think about, today everyone is so caught up with how they look and what they do that we can never just "have fun". We rather stress about what we are going to wear or if we get enough likes on a post. These preschoolers didn't care about what they were wearing or how they acted....they just wanted to have fun.....and that's what they did. As I look now when the boys were playing "dress up" they didn't care about what they were doing at that point.. they were having fun. Now we obviously want to take care of ourselves and not get in trouble, but lets not make it where that is all we care about. After seeing the preschoolers I learned a lot. I learned to not get to caught up in what I look like, but more of what my heart looks like. HAVE FUN...DON'T STRESS SO MUCH ABOUT YOUR OUTWARD APPEARANCE! GOD LOVES YOU JUST THE WAY YOU ARE!

Praise the Lord!

Praise the Lord! Sing to Him a new song, his praise in the assembly of the godly, let Israel be glad in his Maker, let the children of Zion rejoice in their king.  Psalms 149:1-2

You get a good grade on a math test, you finish your homework on time, you made the soccer team… what do you do when those kinds of things happen? You rejoice or you are happy for the rest of the day! When things like those happen… do you praise God? Do you praise God even when things don’t turn out the way you want them to? I know it’s easy to forget to praise God when things are going GREAT, we usually only come to God in times of trouble. Its really important to praise God in the GOOD and in the BAD!

Psalm 149 says it very clearly that we have to praise the Lord, yet people forget to or they just don’t do it because they don’t feel like it. In Exodus, when Moses lead the Israelites, God commanded them to worship him and to praise Him. Yet they still worshipped a golden statue. Paul is a very good example on how we should praise God. Paul who was beaten and imprisoned for being a Christian, still praised the Lord and He sang hymns to the Lord while he was in prison! That’s how we should act when worshipping God, no matter the situation...praise God! Because He has done so much for us and He deserves to be praised!
So next time you pass that test, you finish homework, even if you didn’t make the soccer team, or even if you didn’t have a good day… Praise God! He loves to hear from you, and I am sure you will feel much better after praising Him! Dear Lord, Thank you for everything you have done for us. Please help us praise you in the good times and in the bad times. Amen
