Be like Christ!

BE KIND.

BE LOVING.

BE GENTLE.

BE LIKE CHRIST.

We want to show that we are Christians by how we treat others. Especially to people that don’t even know Jesus! When  we are rude or mean to people, are we showing are true Christian behavior? Not even that, are we showing how we really should act as Christians? I don’t know about you, but I am not drawn into people that are mean. I don’t think anyone really is. That is why we have to be like Christ. Be loving. Be kind. Be gentle. Most people would rather talk to a person like that than a person that is mean (or for us Christians, DOESN’T act like Christ). I know that my mom, well really everyone in my family (LOL) like to talk to people. They are all GREAT people and are GREAT to talk too (at least, I think they are).  They act like Christ and there are a lot of people that like to talk to them. At the store, salon, bank, ANYWHERE! So, I have GREAT role models as you can see. I am glad that those are the people that I look up too because what else is better than having role models that act like CHRIST?

So I want you to act like Christ. I don’t mean just go up to a total stranger and start talking to them about your life story. I am saying to act like Christ so that people are “drawn into” you and then you can share CHRIST with them.

Summer!!

Yayy, it's finally SUMMER BREAK! I know a lot of people are excited because they have big and fun plans right? For me this year, summer break is kind of sad because our school will no longer be a school anymore, but over all, I AM SUPER EXCITED that it is summer break!!
I want to remind you though, even though it is summer break, don't stray from God. I know that in the summer, you have more free time on your hands and are up for anything coming your way, but don't stray from God. For example, let's say there is a HUGE party that you have always wanted to go to, but you never had time, and now that it is summer, you do. Then you go to the party and realize that people are doing drugs or something like that. DON'T DO IT. JUST BECAUSE EVERYONE ELSE IS...DOESN'T MEAN YOU SHOULD! Yes, even in the school year, you still have to be careful and OBVIOUSLY not stray from God, but now that it is summer, I am reminding you to not stray from him. I guess this "goes more" to people that go to a Christian school, or people graduating from a Christian school and go off to a PUBLIC SCHOOL. Don't get me wrong here, public schools are great too. Just it is "easier" to fall into the "wrong path".

As long as you keep God at the center of your summer, EVERYTHING WILL BE GREAT! Maybe not right now because you may feel restricted or the odd-ball, but later in life, you will see that it was worth it :) HAVE A GREAT SUMMER!!

Summer resolutions

You may be wondering why the title is Summer resolutions. Yes, I did mean summer resolutions, NOT New year resolutions. I know how school is coming to an end everyone is so excited that we don't have school for a little while or even people at work that have summers off. I have a plan for everyone that is reading this, (yes, even if you have work) I want you to start thinking of ways you can "improve" or "un-improve" in something for the next school year or work year. (Again, if you don't have summers off, I still want you to reflect on this) Here is an example, lets say you haven't been very nice this school year to your classmates-over the summer you can think of ways to make it up to those people or to start being nice to them. Or if you haven't respected your boss at work, you can start respecting him more or take your job seriously (both of them actually).
< but are we ready to change ourselves in places that need changing??
I know, I know, it is hard! But remember...
I hope everyone has a WONDERFUL summer! I won't be able to post blogs as much in the summer, but I will try...
So remember, during the summer, meditate on yourself and if you need to change in a certain area. Maybe you don't. Or maybe you don't thing you do. If you aren't sure...then pray or read the bible. The bible will tell you how you should act as a Christian, the bible is your very own instruction guide, but it is your choice to follow the directions...carefully :)

Spirit Man...

Just like our body needs food, OUR SPIRIT MAN needs food too. Not the kind of food that we eat, but SPIRITUAL food. You may be wondering: "where can I get this food?". Well the answer is simple. God gave us MANY things to feed our spirit man. Here are some of them:

- the bible
- prayer
- God's mercy
- forgiveness  or forgiving others
- gratefulness, showing gratefulness

We should feed our spirit man with things like that, unlike things like:

- drugs
- lying
- stealing
- anything that God doesn't want you to do!

Don't forget to feed your spirit man EVERYDAY! Not just ONCE A WEEK, where you fill your mind with bad things and only on SUNDAY you don't. It doesn't work like that. Do it EVERYDAY! For example, a dog. You feed it EVERYDAY, not just when you feel like it. It is because you KNOW that the dog needs food. Just like WE (as Christians) should KNOW that our spirit man needs food.
Also if you stop feeding a dog, what will happen?? He will end up...dead.
Your spirit man won't die, you will just not notice it anymore and you will start ignoring God or anything having to do with Him. Thank GOODNESS for God's MERCY too :)

I know that this is a short blog, but I hope you enjoyed this and I PRAY you will feed your spirit man EVERYDAY :)

F.R.O.G

What do think of when you think of a FROG? Maybe you think "gross" or "slimy" or maybe you think "cool" or "awesome". Well did you know that FROG means something? My brother and his class (1st and 2nd grade) did a message for chapel and it was REALLY GOOD! I am going to share the message with you in this post :) Okay, so what do you think F.R.O.G stands for?
Fluffy
Rug
On
Ground

NOPE.

Fat
Rock
On
Grass

NOPE.

It stands for...
FULLY
RELY
ON
GOD!
Isn't that cool?
But, this is the question... Do YOU FULLY (as in 100%, as in NO DOUBT) rely on God?
Yes, it is hard to do. Especially when you are scared something bad will happen or anything like that. It is hard. But we HAVE to trust in God!
-Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5
-Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Hebrews 13:8  (He was trustworthy before, so He is STILL trustworthy today)
MANY, OTHER VERSES TOO!!
SO REMEMBER...HAVE FAITH LIKE A FROG.
BECAUSE THEY CAN...

Fully
Rely
On
God

Just that simple...

BE HAPPY.

LOVE ONE ANOTHER.

SHARE GOD’S WORD.

Those are probably the top 3 things God wants from us! They are pretty simple too, aren’t they?

-Jesus died on the cross for us, yet we still are grumpy and/or mad.

-Jesus loves us, yet we still are rude to people and try to start a fight for no reason.

-Jesus gave us the bible and prayer, yet we “don’t have time” or are “too busy” to share HIS word.

BE HAPPY- I know this is a short blog post, but I just want to tell you to be HAPPY (you never know, you may die tomorrow or a close relative or friend may die, so be happy and loving towards EVERYONE you meet) you don’t want to have regret because then you feel guilty, and that doesn’t make you happy.

LOVE ONE ANOTHER- Be kind. Don’t start a fight. End the fight.  Act like Jesus would act. Would Jesus shove someone just because they accidently bumped into them? NO! Would Jesus call someone an idiot just because that person didn’t know an answer to a math problem? NO!

SHARE GOD’S WORD- It’s that simple. Share the good news of God, share eternal life, share Jesus’ mercy and grace. HE DESERVES IT.

Encouraging Others

We are told to encourage others.

So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing. 1 Thessalonians 5: 11

Notice that it says “just as you are already doing”…we should ALREADY be WILLING AND WANTING to encourage OTHERS.

EVEN IF YOU…

  • Don’t get a “thank you”
  • Don’t get an encouraging word from that person
  • Don’t like that person
  • Don’t feel like it
     MANY OTHER REASONS TOO!

So the next time someone wins something- don’t be like “I deserve to win” or “You cheated”- remember to encourage him or her and to say “Great Job” or “You deserved it”. Because not being nice or encouraging to others…causes strife later on.

MAYBE, you are the type of person that doesn’t think they can be encouraging when he or she DOESN’T win. BUT, you can, and I have the PROOF right here:

You can do it! God WANTS you to do this, so He will give you the strength...All you have to do is ASK!
Now that I think about how many, many, many people won't just give one encouraging word- it is pretty sad.
We won't do it while there is a God who sent His ONLY SON FOR YOU TO DIE ON THE CROSS!
He gave his LIFE, while we won't let ONE encouraging word come out of our mouths- because that is how SELFISH, RUDE, AND STUBBORN we are (yes, this includes me to) (no offense, but we all know that it is true)
ENCOURAGE OTHERS!
 <what will you say?

Our school musical

Our school is having a musical on three stories- by the way, the theme is THE SAILOR’S BIBLE - NOAH, JONAH, AND PAUL.

We have been practicing A LOT, and I want to PRAY that everything goes SUPER GREAT! Tomorrow morning at 9:00,  tomorrow night at 7:00.  PLUS ANOTHER SHOWING ON THURSDAY AT 7:00!!

I have a feeling that everyone will do a GREAT JOB! Here is a simple prayer for EVERYONE who will be performing:

DEAR LORD, I PRAY FOR EVERYONE PERFORMING, I PRAY THAT THEY WILL DO THEIR BEST AND MOST OF ALL , DO IT FOR YOU. AMEN.

I will tell you how everything goes on Friday after both of the shows are done J

We should all act like all of those three people mentioned:

Noah: He listened to God no matter what other people thought of him.

Jonah: Even though he went the wrong way on purpose, he still found his way back in the end.

Paul: He continued to be faithful to God and to preach God’s word even through all of the beatings, imprisons, and hate.
